we need to be those who respond to His heavenly ministry: He always intercedes for us!

March 1, 2010 by aGodMan 1 Comment

we need to be those who respond to His heavenly ministry: He always intercedes for us!Many people, and even many Christians, think that now that the Lord Jesus accomplished such a great work on the earth, He is in the heavens resting and waiting for us to go to Him after we die… or maybe preparing a place (like “building a house”) for all His believers.

Though there are some places in the Bible that can confirm this shallow appreciation of the Lord’s up-to-date ministry, yet the Bible says in Romans 8:34

Who is he who condemns? It is Christ Jesus who died and, rather, who was raised, who is also at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us.

and in Hebrews 7:24-25

But He, because He abides forever, has His priesthood unalterable.
Hence also He is able to save to the uttermost those who come forward to God through Him, since He lives always to intercede for them.

Right now, Christ is in the heavens carrying out His heavenly ministry – mainly to intercede for us, save us to the uttermost, so that He would have His full expression – the Body of Christ – to manifest Him in the universe for ever! His heart’s desire, His economy, is to have a corporate man who expresses Him for eternity in a complete way.

What we need to do today is to see this – His continual interceding for us – and to know that He feels with us, understands us, and prays for us – even intercedes for us! “And when you’re weak He groans for you with words you cannot say”… As we see this, we will be full of appreciation for what He’s doing right now as our heavenly High Priest, the real Melchisedek, and we will cooperate with Him by saying,

Amen, Lord, do in me what You want to do! Build up Your Body! Gain Your Bride! Your Kingdom come!

When we do this, we will have the deep conviction that Christ is interceding and ministering, and that He is transmitting all that He is into us and infusing us with His element! He is able to save to the uttermost all those who come forward to God through Him – He can save us, He just needs our cooperation, our Amen!

Actually, He is interceding for us to be glorified – this is our being saved to the uttermost! He wants us to be fully saved, fully transfigured, glorified! At the time of our glorification, there will be no more vanity, corruption, groaning, slavery, bondage, or any decay!

Our interceding Christ is more than our Savior – He is our kingly and divine High Priest, our heavenly Minister! He intercedes for all the members of His Body – praying for us according to God – that we may be fully saved! Lord, thank You! Gain our cooperation in prayer, Lord, to agree with You and give You more ground in our being!

Amen. He is our heavenly Melchizedek. I was just thinking about His heavenly intercession and His care for us, and our cooperating with Him for the gaining of what He desires in us. And I recalled Melchizedek's coming to Abraham after Abraham's victory over those kings in Genesis. I realized, the answer to His intercessory prayer, and the confirmation that He is carrying out His building work within us is that we receive bread and wine. We are supplied by the Lord. Therefore our cooperation with Him is to receive the supply and our saying "amen" is our ingesting and digesting the supply. Thus starts a metabolic process in our being that will transform us from clay pots into a part of God's glorious building. Hallelujah for Christ's heavenly ministry, for our heavenly Melchizedek! Amen, Lord, we agree with your building work being carried out in us.
