this is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Praise the Lord – this is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it (Psa. 118:24)! This day is none other than the resurrection day, the Lord’s day, the day on which Christ resurrected and was set by God as the cornerstone for God’s building (Acts 20:7; 1 Cor. 16:2; Rev. 1:10)!

This is from Jehovah, and it is wonderful in our sight (Psa. 118:23) – it is wonderful in our eyes that Christ became the cornerstone in God’s building. We should be praising the Lord, rejoicing in Him, and being full of praises for the fact that Christ is the cornerstone for God’s building! Praise the Lord!

Seeing a vision of Christ and the church

The apostle Peter saw a complete vision of Christ and the church in Matt. 16, and he spoke clearly concerning this in Acts 4:10-11 where he said, “Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified and whom God has raised from the dead, … this is the stone which was considered as nothing by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.”

Christ is not only the Savior who died and was resurrected to save us but He is also the cornerstone who transforms us and builds us up into God’s building for His corporate expression on the earth!

We need to see such a vision of Christ and the church. We can see it here and there in the psalms, where the psalmists are expressing their sentiments, feelings, and emotions – and just like that, they utter something concerning Christ and the church!

In Psalm 118 we see that Christ is being praised as the cornerstone for God’s building.

We may have praised Him as the Lamb of God, the Savior, the Redeemer, and even as our all-inclusive Christ; but have we praised the Lord for being the cornerstone – the One who joins us in God’s building and transforms us to be precious stones to be built in His habitation?

When we see a vision of Christ and the church, we will praise Him as such!

Praising the Lord in the meetings

When we come to the meeting we should NOT be silent and we should NOT wait for someone else to praise the Lord or call a hymn – we need to defeat the enemy who tries to shut our mouth by praising the Lord!

Come with a song, with praises, with rejoicing! Especially on the Lord’s day – which is NOT our day to do things, to rest, to spend time with our family, to catch up on chores, etc – we need to praise the Lord!

In the meetings, let us just exercise our spirit and open our mouth to rejoice in the Lord, praising Him for what He is, what He has done, and for Him being the cornerstone! Praise the Lord!

The day that the Lord has made – the Lord’s day!

What is the Lord’s Day, and why do we celebrate it higher or instead of the Sabbath? The Lord’s Day is THE DAY in God’s eyes – the day in which Christ accomplished so much in God’s economy!

On the Lord’s day- the day of His resurrection – Christ was begotten as the Firstborn Son of God, He was enthroned in the heavens, He was set as the cornerstone for God’s building, He regenerated all the believers to be sons of God and members of the Body of Christ, He became the life-giving Spirit, He was crowned with glory and honor, He brought humanity into divinity, He defeated the devil in a definite way by overcoming death, He resurrected and ascended to the highest heaven, and SO MUCH MORE!

The Lord’s day is NOT “the Christian Sabbath day”, but it is a day mandated by God for us to set aside to remember Christ as the cornerstone, the One who was rejected by man but chosen by God, resurrected, ascended, and set in Zion!

We need to rejoice on the Lord’s Day for such a Christ! Christ’s accomplishments in His resurrection are so significant that this day annuls and replaces the Sabbath day!

God ordained the Sabbath for man to have one day of rest, but TODAY this day is the Lord’s resurrection day, the Lord’s Day! This day was instituted by the Lord NOT in the New Testament but long before – in Psalm 118 God set it aside!

Don’t sleep in on the Lord’s day! Don’t take it for granted that it is a free day, no work, no worries, so you can just take it easy and rest, relax, and do what you really want to do. NO!

The Lord’s day is not “Sunday” and it is not your day – it is the Lord’s day! Whatever you do on that day, sanctify it for the Lord and live unto Him!

If we all sanctify this one day a week for the Lord, by the time we are 70 years old we have spent at least 10 years separated unto the Lord!

We are not “doing the Lord a favor by giving Him 2 hours on the Lord’s day” – we need to give Him the whole day both inwardly and outwardly! Whatever we are doing, we need to have this deep realization, Lord, this is Your day, I sanctify this day to You!

Thank You Lord for unveiling us to see that You are the cornerstone to be our salvation and the factor for our transformation and our building up into Your habitation! Thank You for being the cornerstone as our Savior, our salvation, and our transformation for God’s building. Lord, we just praise You! Praise You for the Lord’s day! We want to sanctify this day unto You for the rest of our life!
