the victorious Christ will return to recover the earth when He gains Zion, those fully open to Him!

This week in the morning revival we are getting into the last message on the Crystallization-Study of the Psalms (1), with the main subject being, The Reigning Christ Recovering the Earth by Watering. Many believers think that Christ is recovering the earth for God by judging or purifying… – but actually, although Christ must judge in righteousness and the wrath of God must be poured out during the great tribulation, when He is reigning in Jerusalem and recovering the earth, it will mainly be by watering and flowing! How wonderful – Christ will recover the earth and regain it not by force but by watering and flowing!

The victorious Christ will return to Israel!

A day is coming, and it may be sooner than most of us expect it to be, when the Lord Jesus will return to Israel to establish His throne there – in the city of the great King! Christ as the Victorious One will return – as typified by the entering of the ark into the city of Jerusalem – and He will establish His throne in Jerusalem!

Especially towards the end of the great tribulation the Jews will be so desperate that their only recourse is to pray for the Lord’s coming! And He will come – with His overcoming Bride, His overcoming army!

When the Lord Jesus was on the earth, in the eyes of the people of Israel His death seemed to be a pitiful failure. Even though Pilate called Him, King of the Jews, and he crucified Him, the Lord Jesus never made Himself anything – He was just the Son of God and the Son of David.

BUT – when everyone thought that He was defeated, the Lord had a tremendous victory over every negative thing in the universe!

Three days after His death, the Lord Jesus was resurrected and He ascended to be exalted to the throne over everything in the universe! And now the Lord Jesus is coming as the King – He is coming in glory, in splendor, and in victory!

Solomon is a type of Christ as the son of David

Psalm 72 is a psalm on king Solomon – who is a type of Christ as the reigning One. On the one hand David typifies some aspects Christ (a life of sufferings on the earth), and on the other hand Solomon typifies other aspects of Christ (a life of reigning as the King over everything).

More specifically, Solomon as a type of Christ did two main things: he built the temple of God in the kingdom (1 Kings 6:2) and spoke the word of wisdom (1 Kings 10:23-24; Matt. 12:42).

Christ, in fulfilling this type, is now building the real temple of God, the church, in the kingdom of God and has spoken the word of wisdom. (Matt. 1:1, see footnote 3)

On the one hand Christ is in the heavens right now sitting on the throne and ruling over everything, but on the other hand Christ as the King is returning to the earth to recover the earth as His possession!

At His second coming, Christ will take possession of the earth – which has already been given to Him as His possession (Psa. 2:8) – and He will establish God’s kingdom on the whole earth (Psa. 24:1). In this way, Christ will recover God’s right over the earth!

Becoming the Zion to bring the Lord back

Before the Lord Jesus can come as the King, He needs to have in all the local churches the reality of Zion – He needs to have His overcomers as His bride ready!

In Psalm 51 we see how the goal of our repentance and confession marrying God’s forgiveness is that it amazingly produces a burden for the building up of Zion.

The Lord needs to gain Zion, the aspect of the church that is fully open to Him, the overcomers who will hasten His return!

This is very sobering and also very encouraging – as we see in Rev. 3:20, it is possible for the Lord Jesus to be in practicality outside the church, knocking at the door…. We may be the recovered church, but degradation can creep in to such an extent that the Lord is outside the door, knocking to come in.

But Zion, the reality of the Body of Christ, the overcomers, the vitalized ones in the churches, are those who are fully open to the Lord, those fully possessed by Him! They are the beachhead – the only thing on earth absolutely open to the Lord! Those who are Zion in God’s complete salvation will return with the glorious Christ to reign with Him!

Lord Jesus, make us the Zion today – those who are fully open to You! O, Lord, we want to be the beachhead for Your return! We want to be those who hasten Your coming – and we even want to be coming with You to the earth to recover the earth as Your possession! The earth and everything in it is the Lord’s! Lord, all the inhabited earth is Yours! Come quickly and claim it for Yourself! O, King of Glory, come in!
