The Body of Christ as the organism of the Triune God has a living and a service which is organic and corporate – all the members of the Body of Christ live together by taking Christ as life (Col. 3:3-4), and also all the members care for one another (1 Cor. 12:25-27).
What I realize more and more concerning the Christian life and the church life in the Body is that the Body life is a LIFE – it is not a performance, it is not something we put on when we are with other believers, and it is not something we do on Sundays.
No, the Christian life and the Body life is our daily life, our daily living – we daily need to be mingled with the Triune God so that we may take Christ as our life and let Him live in us!
How can God live in us – in so many believers everywhere in the world? When God in Christ as the Spirit comes into our spirit, He brings the divine life into us.
This divine life is mysterious, hidden, and not very tangible; but this life has a law – the law of the Spirit of life (Rom. 8:2). Praise the Lord, the law of the divine life in us first enlivens our spirit by the Spirit of Christ.
Then, the mind in our soul is enlivened when we set our mind on the Spirit – the Spirit of God spreads into our mind (Rom. 8:6).
Finally, even our mortal body is being enlivened by the indwelling Spirit of God – as we turn to the Lord and enjoy His divine life in us flowing.
This is why we need to set our mind on the spirit (Rom. 8:6), walk according to the Spirit, and put to death the practices of the body through the indwelling Spirit.
This is the way for us to allow the indwelling Christ to mingle Himself with us: He is our life and we are His living!
What really touched me this morning while going through the morning revival is that our living and our service in the Body of Christ depends on the capacity of the law of the Spirit of life. It’s not us living, but us living with Christ by allowing the law of life to operate in us.
If we are honest with ourselves, we will admit that we as human beings CANNOT live the Christian life, nor can we live the Body life. It’s too much for us, and we don’t have the right life – if we live just by our human life – to have this kind of living. But there’s another life, the divine life – and this life has the capacity of the law of life which can operate in us and spontaneously, automatically, and normally can live the Christian life and the Body life!
We need to simply turn to our spirit and enjoy the divine life; fellowship with the Lord and call on His name – this will activate the law of life in us, and our living will be Christ living in us! In the Body of Christ, God the Father is the source of life, God the Son is the life element, and God the Spirit is the capacity of the Body of Christ (the essence).
These three are actually one, and apart from this capacity – the law of the Spirit of life – we can do nothing! The purpose of God’s dispensing into us is to become our life and even the very law of the Spirit of life operating in us.
The very essence of the Body of Christ is the Spirit of life – all we need to do is to activate the law of the Spirit of life in us, and the innate power of the Body of Christ will operate in us to make us fully God-men and functioning members of the Body! It is not us, saints, it is the law of the Spirit of life operating in us!

Lord, keep us turning to You today. We really can’t do this in ourselves – and we want to even stop trying. O, Lord, we praise You for this simple, organic, living way! The divine life is in our spirit – and the law of life operates in us! Save us from still trying in ourselves to be good people, good employees, good parents, or even good children… May we simply turn to our spirit and activate the law of the Spirit of life! Operate in us as the innate power of the Body, the capacity of the law of the Spirit of life!
The service of the Body of CHRIST as a living organism is organic. In the service of the Body, every member is necessary and functions organically according to the operation in the measure of each one part (1 Cor. 12:14-22). In this service, every member participates in the New Testament priesthood of the gospel: by preaching the gospel to save sinners and offer them as sacrifices to GOD (Rom. 15:16).
By nourishing the believers and help them to grow so that they can offer themselves as living sacrifices to GOD (Rom. 12:1). By perfecting the saints so that they may do the work of the ministry unto the organic building up of the Body of CHRIST. And by leading the saints to prophesy, to speak for GOD, for the organic building up of the church (1 Cor. 14:1, 3-5, 12, 24, 31).
