The entire book of Psalms shows us that God desires to recover the earth through His reigning in Christ and in His kingdom. Even though the earth is today under the usurping hand of Satan, being illegally and improperly used by God’s enemy for his evil purposes, God desires and will obtain the earth to be His for His kingdom!
In psalm after psalm we can see how God is reigning in Christ and in His kingdom through His people.
Today we as the believers of Christ and the kingdom of God in this age have the privilege to cooperate with Christ to recover the earth and bring in God’s kingdom!
Christ will rule the nations with an iron rod
In Psalm 2:8-9 we see that Christ asked God and God gave Him the nations as His inheritance and the limits of the earth as His possession. Christ will reign over the nations in His kingdom with an iron rod (see Rev. 2:26-27). His enthronement as King is after Him being anointed in His divinity and humanity, His death, His resurrection, and His ascension with His enthronement.
God has already installed Christ as King – and all the nations are His together with the limits of the earth! Today this is being accomplished through the church, who is composed of believers living in the reality of God’s kingdom in this age!
Christ’s name is excellent in all the earth
In Psalm 8:1-2 we see that Christ’s name is excellent in all the earth! The wonderful and high name of the incarnated, crucified, resurrected, ascended, and exalted Christ (see Phil. 2:5-11) is excellent in all the earth! Don’t look at the current situation and do not be despaired at what the condition of man is today.
Even though Satan did his best to ruin man and the earth, God never gave up on man – He still desires to gain the earth through man! God’s purpose and plan never changed – He still desires man to rule over the earth and to defeat God’s enemy. God will obtain what He is after – His name will be excellent in all the earth!
Psalm 8 speaks of the fulfillment of the original purpose of God in creating man (see Gen. 1:26) – on the one hand Christ is that man who deals with God’s enemy and brings in God’s kingdom, and on the other hand it is the church who deals with the enemy and ushers in God’s kingdom!
God is unchangeable and He will not swerve or change His purpose for man, no matter how low man falls, how much Satan does, or how terrible the situation is. God desires for man to rule – man will rule over the earth for God! Today we are the “babes and sucklings” who have a perfected praise to deal with the enemy and subdue Him!
the church ushers in God’s kingdom
In Psalm 22:27-28 we see that the church ushers in God’s kingdom for Christ to rule over all the nations. Today the church is the reality of the kingdom – the church life is the kingdom life, the kingdom of God (see Rom. 14:17).
What we are enjoying in the church life today – being recovered to God’s original intention, enjoying Christ as our everything, coordinating in life with the saints, being built up with the believers, dealing with the flesh and the self, dealing with God’s enemy, releasing the Lord’s blessing and His jubilee, binding the blinding work of Satan, etc – is only a foretaste and a precursor of the coming kingdom age.
With man it may be difficult to see how God can fulfil His purpose, and it may even seem impossible to do it. What is impossible to us, with God it is already DONE! What we are doing today is to bring in God’s kingdom in city after city – to kick Satan out!
The whole earth is the Lord’s, and we speak the gospel of the kingdom unto the ends of the earth to bring in the end of this age! We speak until the kingdom of God comes in!
There’s a “new world order” coming – Christ will rule and reign in His kingdom with His overcomers over all the earth! We will fight in the cities, we will fight in Europe, we will fight all the way to Jerusalem, and we will bring the Lord back!
Lord, Your purpose to have man rule over the earth for God can never be defeated! Thank You for such a high purpose and such a great plan for man! Obtain what You are after! Nothing is impossible to You! Lord, bring in Your kingdom! Make us those who speak the gospel unto the limits of the earth so that the end would come. O, Lord, we desire to see Your kingdom come in! Defeat Your enemy through the church – put him to shame! Your kingdom come!
