our sanctification in the truth results in oneness by dealing with all the factors of division

November 17, 2011 by aGodMan 2 Comments

our sanctification in the truth results in oneness by dealing with all the factors of divisionThe only way to deal with all the factors of division which are in our natural being is by coming to the Lord in His word with an open heart and an open spirit.

The word of God which is living and applied to our being through having the divine light shining on it and infusing the truth into us sanctifies us and makes us one!

The sanctifying word, the sanctifying Spirit, the sanctifying life, and the sanctifying God are all one – when we are sanctified, we are made one, and all factors of division are taken away!

Becoming ONE by being in US, in the Triune God

This oneness is not the oneness that man can offer or experience by themselves – the Lord said in John 17:21, … that they all may be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us… The way for us to be one is to be in the Triune God – this is a “in us”-oneness, the enlarged oneness of the Triune God! When we are sanctified by the truth from all the factors of division and are saturated with the truth, we are brought into the Triune God who IS the oneness!

The only way to be in the Triune God is by the sanctifying truth that deals with all the factors of division and brings the element of God into us.

Sanctification keeps us in the Triune God. Oneness is the coinhering Triune God – the Father is in the Son, the Son is in the Father, and the Father and the Son are in the Spirit, mutually indwelling and coinhering in one another.

The Lord Jesus expressed the deep desire in God to bring man into this oneness – that they also may be IN US! The oneness of the Body of Christ is nothing else than the enlarged oneness of the Triune God!

Dealing with the factors of division by the sanctifying truth

There are several factors of division which are in our being naturally, waiting only for the opportunity to surface and be expressed.

We have to remember that outside of being in the Triune God there’s only division, but when we are in the enlarged oneness of the coinhering Triune God by the sanctifying truth we have the oneness! There’s no oneness in the universe outside of the coinhering Triune God!

And the way to be in this oneness is through the sanctifying truth which kills and terminates all the factors of division.

  • Worldliness – is one factor of division. We may not love everything in the world, but as long as we love a certain aspect of the world, that aspect of worldliness becomes a cause of division. The aspect of the world we love, whether publicly or secretly, separates us from the saints. The whole world lies passively in the sphere of the evil one’s influence, under his manipulation and usurpation (see 1 John 5:19 and note). We need to be aware of this and be sanctified in the truth to be saved from worldliness.
  • Ambition – whether it is manifested or it is only within us, ambition is in every one of us like a gopher working underground in a hidden way to cause damage and division. We all are ambitious – we need to see and admit that. What can kill our ambition to be someone in the church? Only through touching the Lord through the Word and by allowing Him to be infused into us as the truth – this can kill our ambition. The antibiotic to the germ of ambition in our blood is the sanctifying truth which brings us into oneness.
  • Self-exaltation – this accompanies ambition and is also in every one of us. Whenever we exalt ourselves, we damage the oneness. Do not boast about what you are or what you can do – rather, in the church life we all need to learn to be a nobody, since only Christ is Somebody! Christ is the Only Somebody, and we really are nobody! When we get into the Word, the divine light is shining on the Bible and is conveying the spiritual facts into our being – this effaces and eliminates the self-exaltation, and Christ has the first place!
  • Opinions and concepts – we are so full of opinions and concepts about everything! As we see in the case of Peter in Matt. 16, even our seemingly good opinions can open the gates of Hades and hinder God’s economy. If the Lord Jesus would not have been crucified (as Peter’s opinion said), we would have never been saved and the church would not exist! We need to reject our opinions and concepts and pursue the Lord’s goal, the recovery of Christ as life and as everything to us for the building up of the church.

How can we deal with these four factors of division which are in us? We can not “wipe them out once and for all” but we can deal with them day by day by being sanctified in the truth. When we spend time with the Lord every day, especially in the morning, to touch the living Word and have the divine reality infused into us, we are saved from any factor of division. The sanctifying truth in the Word of God saves us from division and brings us into the Triune God, making us one!

[sharing inspired from, Truth Messages, msg. 5 (by brother Lee), as quoted in the Holy Word for Morning Revival on, The Four Great Pillars in the Lord’s Recovery. Intro: being sanctified in the truth.]

O, Lord, how much we need to be sanctified in the truth! There are so many factors of division in us, Lord, and we cannot get rid of them by ourselves. Keep us coming to You with an open heart to receive the spiritual light televising the divine realities into our being! O, Lord, sanctify us in the truth and eliminate in us all the causes of division! Through Your sanctifying Word bring us into the enlarged oneness of the Triune God!
