New Jerusalem is a Corporate God-man, the Consummation of the High Peak of Revelation

January 4, 2017 by aGodMan 10 Comments

The New Jerusalem is the consummation of the central vision of God’s economy and of the high peak of the divine revelation.

The consummation of the central vision of God’s economy and of the high peak of the divine revelation is the New Jerusalem (Rev. 21:2, 9-11); the new Jerusalem is a corporate God-man and the consummation of the high peak of the divine revelation.

The central vision of God’s economy is the experience of Christ as life for the producing and building up of the church as the Body of Christ. God has an economy, and in His economy He intends to dispense Himself into us to regenerate us, transform us, build us up, and glorify us, so that He may gain the church as the Body of Christ, His corporate expression in the universe.

This is what Paul was writing about in his 14 epistles; the central vision of Paul’s completing ministry is God in us as our contents, Christ as the mystery of God, and the church as the mystery of Christ.

Throughout the Bible there’s a governing vision, which is that the Triune God is working Himself into us to saturate our whole being with the Divine Trinity for the producing and building up of the Body of Christ, consummating in the New Jerusalem. What a glorious economy of God, and how wonderful that we can take a part in it!

The high peak of the divine revelation is that God became man to make man God in life and nature but not in the Godhead to produce and build up the Body of Christ for the fulfillment of God’s economy to close this age and bring Christ back to set up His kingdom.

In the Bible there are many high and deep truths, but the highest peak of the divine revelation is simply that, in His economy, God became man so that man may become God in life and nature (but not in His Godhead, His being worshipped) so that the Body of Christ would be produced and built up and the Lord would return and close this age.

Such a high peak was seen by Paul and spoken of by John in his epistles, but it has been not unveiled to us until the last days through the ministry of the age.

We need to realize that it is only by God’s becoming man to make man God that the Body of Christ – His corporate expression and organic constitution – can be produced and built up.

The New Jerusalem involves God becoming Man and Man becoming God in Life and Nature

Rev. 21:10-11 And he carried me away in spirit onto a great and high mountain and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, having the glory of God. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, as clear as crystal.

From Genesis to Revelation, the divine revelation in the Bible is progressive; it goes higher and higher, deeper and deeper, richer and richer, and brighter and brighter, until it reaches the high peak in the book of Revelation with the New Jerusalem.

The New Jerusalem is the consummation and ending of the divine revelation according to God’s eternal economy (Rev. 21:10-11).

The New Jerusalem, the holy city, is the ultimate consummation of the Bible, and it involves God becoming man and man becoming God in life and nature but not in the Godhead (Rev. 21:2; 3:12).

First, God became a man – in Christ God has become man with the purpose that He would make man God in His life and nature, so that the redeeming God and the redeemed man can be mingled, constituted, together to be one entity – the New Jerusalem.

The main content of the New Testament is that the Triune God has an eternal economy according to His good pleasure to dispense Himself in His life and nature into His chosen and redeemed people, thereby making them His duplication so that they may express Him; this corporate expression will consummate in the New Jerusalem (Eph. 3:9; 1:9-23). The New Jerusalem, the ultimate consummation of the Bible, involves God becoming man and man becoming God in life and in nature but not in the Godhead (Rev. 21:2; 3:12). In Christ, God has become man to make man God in His life and in His nature so that the redeeming God and the redeemed man can be mingled, constituted, together to be one entity—the New Jerusalem (21:3, 22). Eventually, the triune, eternal God becomes the New Jerusalem incorporated with all of us, and we also become the New Jerusalem through the process of God’s organic salvation (Rom. 5:10). (The Conclusion of the New Testament, p. 4361, by Witness Lee)

In Christ God has become man to make man God in His life and in His nature so that the redeeming God and the redeemed man can be mingled, constituted, together to be one entity — the New Jerusalem (Rev. 21:3, 22). Eventually, the triune, eternal God becomes the New Jerusalem incorporated with all of us, and we also become the New Jerusalem through the process of God’s organic salvation (Rom. 5:10; Rev. 3:12). Witness LeeThe New Jerusalem as the wife of the Lamb needs to match her Husband, and for this the Lord needs to be mingled and constituted with us until we are becoming God in life and nature for the bringing in of the holy city.

Before the foundation of the world God chose us to be the same as He is in His holy nature (Eph. 1:4). We were predestinated unto sonship, that is, God predestinated us to have the life, standing, and position of a son of God.

In eternity past, the high peak of the divine revelation was in God’s heart: He knew that, in order for Him to obtain the New Jerusalem, He had to create men in His image to be His sons, holy as He is.

Even though man fell and was constituted with sin and death, our God would not be swerved from His purpose; He sent His Son to deal with anything negative on the cross and release the divine life, and in resurrection He regenerated us to be the many sons of God!

Now in His ascension Christ is in the heavens interceding for us and operating in us until we will be holy and glorified sons of God composing the New Jerusalem! Eventually, the Triune God becomes the New Jerusalem – incorporated with us all; also, we become the New Jerusalem through the process of God’s organic salvation.

Thank You Lord for becoming a man so that we may become God in life and nature through the process of Your organic salvation. Thank You for showing us the high peak of the divine revelation in the Bible. Keep us in the process of God’s organic salvation so that we may be made in full sons of God and holy as God is holy for the New Jerusalem. Amen, Lord, sanctify us, renew us, transform us, build us up, and glorify us to make us the same as You are to be the New Jerusalem, Your counterpart and wife for eternity!

The New Jerusalem is the Corporate God-man: the Enlargement, Expansion, and Expression of God

The New Jerusalem is the expansion and expression of the processed and consummated Triune God with His chosen, redeemed, regenerated, sanctified, renewed, transformed, built-up, conformed, and glorified people. Witness Lee

If you read the description of the items in the holy city, New Jerusalem, paying attention to their spiritual application to our experience, you will realize that the holy city is actually a corporate God-man.

The New Jerusalem is the enlargement, expansion, and expression of God – the corporate God (Rom. 8:29; Heb. 2:10-12; Rev. 4:3; 21:10-11)!

In the beginning of the Bible we see the Triune God as a bachelor, creating man and working on and with man to gain a bride; at the end of the Bible we see a corporate God-man, the New Jerusalem.

The New Jerusalem is God’s enlargement and expression; God has been not only working on man and with man but He has wrought Himself into man throughout the ages so that He may be enlarged and expanded in His expression.

All believers in Christ are the children of God, God’s kind, God’s species, to be part of God’s corporate expression, which is the New Jerusalem. Only God can express Himself, and only what comes out of God is His expression; therefore, we need to be His enlargement to be His corporate expression.

Throughout our Christian life we are going through a process of regeneration (to receive the divine life in our spirit), transformation (to be transformed metabolically in our soul) and glorification (to be glorified in our body, transfigured even in our body of flesh) so that we may be fully mingled with the processed and consummated Triune God as the Spirit to become the New Jerusalem, the corporate God-man.

The New Jerusalem is a composition of divinity and humanity blended and mingled together as one entity; the precious stones – the foundations – are the twelve apostles (men mingled with God), and everywhere in the city we see God flowing into man, man dwelling in God, man expressing God, and God being everything to man and in man for His corporate expression.

The New Jerusalem is also the eternal expansion and expression of the processed and consummated Triune God in the regenerated, transformed, and glorified humanity. It is the spreading of the Triune God through His glorified saints as His increase for His eternal purpose. This spreading is illustrated by the vine with its branches in John 15. The branching out of the vine is the spreading of the vine. This is an illustration of the New Jerusalem as the expansion, the spreading, of the Triune God through His glorified saints. Witness Lee, Incarnation, Inclusion, and Intensification, p. 36All the components of the New Jerusalem have the same life, nature, and constitution, to be a corporate person (Rev. 21:2, 10-21). The New Jerusalem is a corporate person, and every part of this corporate person has to be the same in life, nature, expression, and function.

The New Jerusalem is the expansion and expression of God (who has been processed and consummated) with His people (who have been chosen, redeemed, regenerated, sanctified, renewed, transformed, built-up, conformed, and glorified).

Through the process of God’s organic salvation, we are being built up as the Body of Christ for the consummation of the New Jerusalem.

The Lord Jesus is the vine tree; He became a man to branch out in humanity, and now all believers in Christ are His increase and spread on earth to be God’s eternal expansion and expression in the universe – the New Jerusalem. Hallelujah!

Just as the vine branches out and spread, so the Triune God spreads and branches out by the process of God’s organic salvation to produce a corporate God-man, the New Jerusalem, where God is fully mingled and blended with man for eternity!

Thank You Lord for branching out in humanity and reaching us with Your divine life to make us a part of Your corporate expression. Grant us a vision of the New Jerusalem as the corporate God-man – the enlargement, expansion, and expression of God! Wow, Lord, Your heart’s desire and highest intention is that You would be fully mingled with us and we would be fully blended with You so that God and man, man and God, would become a corporate God-man, the New Jerusalem, for God to be expressed in man for eternity! Hallelujah!

Regardless of how many ages there are and how much work God does, He has only one goal. In the beginning of the Bible there is one single God, and at the end there is a great, corporate God—the New Jerusalem.

Just as the Bible begins with God, so it ends with God. In the beginning He is a simple God, a God who is triune; at the end a city appears, and that is the corporate God. The New Jerusalem is God’s enlargement and expansion, God’s expression in eternity, which is the corporate God. Those who participate in the New Jerusalem are all God’s children, God’s kind, God’s species….God’s children are innumerable. Consider how many are in the New Jerusalem! They all are gods; they all belong to God’s species. Hence, the New Jerusalem is the corporate God. (How to Be a Co-worker and an Elder and How to Fulfill Their Obligations, p. 50, by W. L.)
