God does not want us to “Improve” or “change our behavior”, to be “better people” – even though this will eventually be the result of us eating Him… God wants man to eat Him, enjoy Him, breathe Him in, and be constituted with Him! This is why we see that He brought the people of Israel out of Egypt and through the wilderness where He gave them ONLY MANNA!
A trip that should have taken less than six months took almost 40 years, partly because of their stubbornness (which we all have) and mainly because their intrinsic constitution needed to be changed! God cannot build up His house, His dwelling place, with people who have a worldly constitution and desire worldly things! God builds up the church only with Christ and with Christ-constituted beings!
Today He desires to change our constitution – He wants to eliminate every trace of our “Egyptian” constitution and craving. There are so many things we desire, we crave, and we rely on to feed us and satisfy us… our Egyptian diet denotes all the things that we desire to feed on – other than Christ – in order to find satisfaction. There are so many things we yearn to spend time with, to enjoy, to partake of, or to have… God desires His people to be reconstituted with Himself, so that we may have Him as our only food, as our diet, and as our constitution!
Today God gives us only Christ – Jesus Only – for us to eat, enjoy, and be satisfied with. God wants Christ to be our everything – our food, our drink, our breath, our life supply – everything! In a sense, we are just like the people of Israel in the wilderness – we are on our way to be transformed and reconstituted, and we still have so many other things that we feed on!
On the one hand, we have tasted that the Lord is good, we have an appetite for Christ and we love eating the Lord! On the other hand, many times we enjoy some “garlic” or some “cucumbers” from Egypt, some things that feed us other than Christ…. This is why God is specific when it comes to our diet – we need to eat only Christ! The only thing we have on the menu every day is just Christ.
Christ is God’s allotted portion to the saints, Christ is our real food, Christ is our real drink – Christ is the reality of all the positive things in the universe! And since we become what we eat, if we daily eat Christ, we are being reconstituted with Christ – and we become Christ! The Christ we eat becomes the very fibres of our being, our very constitution, and Christ becomes us – we become Christ! This is the way He replaces us – in an organic way, by us eating and enjoying Christ!
The Christ we eat daily as our only food supply nourishes us – we don’t know how, we don’t know in what way and when, but Christ as the food and drink comes in, is being digested, and is being imparted into every part of our being! Just as the food is being assimilated into our body, Christ as our spiritual food is assimilated into our spiritual being and becomes our spiritual constitution. By feeding on Christ as the manna, we are reconstituted with Christ! On the other hand, Christ as the food operates in us to eliminate any negative things – He eliminates anything that is not of Himself.
Christ in us “cleans up” our inner being: He adds the nourishing element and He eliminates any negative element in our being. As we eat the Lord, He reconstitutes us with Himself by eliminating anything of the old and adding His new element… By being reconstituted in such a way, we become qualified to build up the church as God’s building! The people of Israel were daily eating the manna and they were qualified to build up God’s tabernacle; we daily eat Christ and are being qualified to build up the church! Only God-reconstituted beings can build up the Body of Christ (which is Christ Himself)!
We are being built up as God’s dwelling place in our spirit and we build God’s house today by eating of Christ! More eating, more building! How important and vital to our Christian life it is for us to eat Christ in His Word! It is vital for us to pray over the Word, be constituted with Christ in His Word, and get into the life-giving ministry that opens up the Word of God!

Lord, go on in us in Your re-constituting process! Become our only food, Lord, and change our appetite! May we lose the taste for everything else but You! Lord, operate in us! Give us a hunger for You, a thirst for You, a hunger and a thirst for eternal things! We want You to be our constitution – we want to be filled with You! Save us more and more from eating other things! From the morning to the evening, Lord, be our only food and drink! Only You can nourish us! Keep us feeding on You!
Yes, Lord, change our diet completely! Make us those who eat You and ONLY You! We want to be so thoroughly occupied, soaked, saturated, and possessed by You alone! We not only want to eat, drink, breathe ONLY You, but also lose the taste for anything but You! Not even a taste for other things, Lord! So, we give ourselves to feed and BE fed! We cooperate with Your operation; with Your metabolic transformation in us! Make us YOUR PEOPLE!! Your exact reproduction! And Lord we do NOT want to waste any time! We don't want to take YEARS, what should only take YOU months! Alot the proper amount of time and keep us in it, redeeming it!
