God beheld the man He created and it was VERY GOOD(enjoyment from a home meeting)

May 26, 2011 by aGodMan 2 Comments

Dear saints, I enjoyed tonight in our home meeting the matter of REST. For a man to truly rest is not easy. Only someone who has a desire and a plan and who then works hard to see that thing accomplished – and accomplished well – can really rest! Someone may want to go to a certain university and spend two years working hard to get the exam results they need. On the day of their results they can really rest and sit with their feet up looking at the results and smiling.

But God is full of life, full of purpose and full of determination. Something would have to be truly great in the most universal sense to cause Him to rest. That something was not the creation of the immense universe or the shaping of the jewel that is the earth. Nor was it the multitude of plants and animals that fill the earth. It was the creation of man. When He made man He beheld that it was very good. To behold isn’t just to look at. It means to look at from every angle at length. God’s creation of man reveals God’s predetermined will, the thing He had longed for in eternity past and carried out in time. When He beheld man He could rest, knowing it could not have been done any better.

But this is just the beginning of the story of God in His union with man. I’m really looking forward to carrying on our reading from The Glorious Church over the coming weeks. Praise the Lord for the home meetings. [this is brother Ed D’s sharing from a recent home meeting]

wow, so simple, so sweet, and so true! Thanks, Ed, for sharing this – God wants to be joined to man in union with man! The first step He took was to create man – and man was the BEST He could come up with! What an uplifted view of being a man in God's plan!

Looking forward to hear more of your enjoyment from this book…

"When He beheld man,he could rest". How many times we dissapoint God! Oh, Lord Jesus, come to rest in us!
