Entering Into the Highest Intimacy with God to Be In the Light and See His Mysteries

November 8, 2013 by aGodMan 2 Comments

We need to enter into the highest intimacy with God to see His secrets

we need to enter into the highest intimacy with God to see His secrets.

Noah found grace in the sight of Jehovah, and he was entrusted by Him to build an ark for his salvation and the salvation of his family. Everything about the ark is very significant: the dimensions, the number of stories it had, the window, the door, the materials (wood, pitch), etc.

For instance, the length of the ark was 300 cubits, the width 50 cubits, and the height 30 cubits (Gen. 6:15). The basic numbers in God’s building are three and five (see Exo. 27) – three signifies the Triune God, and five (composed of 4 + 1) signifies the unique God mingled with man (the creature) through His divine dispensing (2 Cor. 13:14; Eph. 4:4-6).

Most readers and students of the Bible have never asked themselves why did the ark have these specific measurements! Furthermore, why does the ark have three stories (Gen. 6:16)? Why is there only one opening toward the light, one “window” in the ark, which is on the third story?

Believe me, I myself never wondered why these things are like this, but I praise the Lord for the ministry of the age which opens up and interprets with the whole Bible why these specifications of the ark are this way! Praise the Lord for all the ones who went before us and labored on God’s word, digging deeper into the significance of the dimensions and components of the ark!

All the things related to the ark, all the instructions God Noah concerning the building of the ark, is a type of our Christian experience today. In this blog post we will try to dive deeper into the matter of the three stories and the lighting / the window in the ark.

The Three Stories in the Ark Signify the Triune God

The fact that the ark had three stories is not insignificant – these three stories signify the Triune God. In the tabernacle – which Moses built in the wilderness according to God’s specific instructions – there are also three sections: the outer court, the holy place, and the Holy of Holies.

The three sections of the tabernacle signify the depths of God into which we all must enter. The three stories of the ark signify the height into God to which we all must attain.

With the help of Luke 15 we can understand that the first story represents the Spirit (the “woman” in the parable, who searches us out and brings us back to the Son), the second story represents Christ the Son (who is the Shepherd, the Savior), and the third story represents God the Father (represented by the loving Father waiting for the prodigal son’s return).

The Spirit is seeking for the lost sinner, sanctifying him positionally and working within him, inspiring him to come to Christ and believe into Him. The Spirit brings us to the Son, and the Son brings us to the Father. We need to not merely be positionally sanctified and be brought to Christ, but go higher and higher to the Father, to be in God Himself.

If I had a house with three stories (three levels), everyone can have access and be in the first level (the ground floor), but only close friends and relatives can come to the second story (the first floor). However, only the most intimate friends will ever have access to the third story, where all my “treasures” are…In the same way, in the ark most likely only Noah and his family were on the third story, probably with some of the animals.

In our experience, we need to love the Lord and love Him to the uttermost, so that He may show us His secrets, His mysteries, and what is hidden in His heart! 1 Cor. 2:9 tells us clearly that there are some things which eye has not seen, ear has not heard, and which things have not come up in man’s heart – things beyond our imagination or hope – are prepared by God for those who love Him!

Just love the Lord! Go higher with Him! Enter into the Father through Christ the Son and in the one Spirit (Eph. 2:18). When we don’t love the Lord, we are under a curse (1 Cor. 16:22), but when we love Him, He brings us into the deepest and highest intimacy with Himself to show us His hidden treasures and His mysteries!

How we need to enter into the deepest and highest intimacy with our Triune God, so that He may bring us to the “third story” and show us His mysteries, His secrets, and His hidden treasures (2 Cor. 2:10; Exo. 33:11)!

One Opening in the Ark – Only One Vision through One Ministry

Entering Into the Highest Intimacy with God to Be In the Light and See His Mysteries. Gen. 6:16 You shall make an opening for light for the ark, and you shall finish it up to a cubit from the top; and you shall put the entrance of the ark in its side; you shall make it with lower, second, and third stories.

You shall make an opening for light for the ark, and you shall finish it up to a cubit from the top; and you shall put the entrance of the ark in its side; you shall make it with lower, second, and third stories.

Today’s ships and big boats have many windows, but in the ark built by Noah according to God’s specifications, there is only one opening toward the heavens, in the third story (Gen. 6:16).

In Hebrew, the word for “opening” has the same root as the word for “noon” – when we are under the opening in the ark, we are in the noontime, full of light (see Prov. 4:18). This is very significant. The amount of light we have is determined by the story we are in: on the first story, light is very dim; on the second story, the light is a bit brighter; and on the third story, there is a bright sunshine and full light.

The higher we are, the more light we have; the more we love the Lord, the more we are brought into the light and we see clearly. If we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with God and with one another, and the blood of Christ cleanses us from every sin (1 John 1:7).

Those who are on the third story, higher up in the Triune God in their experience and living in the light, they simply shine the divine light! When brother Nee went to M. E. Barber, she was full of light. Brother Watchman Nee himself was full of light, and people who talked to him became clear just by being in his presence.

The more light you have, the higher you are; the higher you are in God by loving the Lord and being intimate with Him, the more light you have.

The fact that there is only one window (one opening) in the entire ark is very significant. In God’s building and in God’s house there is only one source of light, one ministry, one speaking, and one vision.

Paul wrote in his epistles that we should reject any doctrines or teachings that are different from what he preached and taught (Gal. 1:6-9; Rom. 16:17; 1 Tim. 1:3). He was the minister of the age for that time, being entrusted by God with the commission to complete the word of God and what is lacking of the sufferings of Christ in His Body.

In every age, there is the ministry of that age. In Noah’s age, you could not build your own speedboat or yacht at home – you had to join Noah, the minister of that age, and build the one unique ark with him according to God’s instructions. The particular recovery and work God is doing in a particular age is the ministry of that age.

In this age, God is building up the Body of Christ (not any local ministry, denomination, sect, or church), and we need to be in the ministry of the age today! The light comes not from the north, south, east, or west – it doesn’t come from any human effort or manufacturing.

In God’s building, the light comes from God, and there is only one vision and one ministry of the age which betroths us to Christ and builds up the Body of Christ! Just as there was only one window, one opening, in the ark, there is only one window, one revelation, and one vision through one ministry in God’s building (Acts 26:19; Gal. 1:6-9; 1 Tim. 1:3-4).

Lord Jesus, bring us deeper and higher with You until we are fully in the light! Cleanses us, wash us, renew us, speak to us, and bring us further with You, higher and higher until we are the clear sky, seeing You face to face! We are not satisfied to be in a dim light – we want to be in the full sunshine, under the clear sky. Lord, we love You! We give ourselves to just love You and not pay attention to anything else. Make us Your crazy lovers, those who are intimate with You and who enter into the secrets of Your heart to see Your mysteries and treasures. Lord Jesus, we just love You!

    # Higher up where light increases, / Far above all earthly strife, / Where the strain of effort ceases, / Where in Christ we reign in Life. / Lead me higher up the mountain, / Give me fellowship with Thee!
    # Higher, higher, in the life of Jesus; / Lord, we are so low. / By Thy life we all can go much higher— / Higher let us go. / Oh, higher yet we pray— / Transform us every day— / And richer in the flow; / May Thy life be all we know.
    # Walk in the light, thy path shall be / Serene and clear and bright; / For God, by grace, shall dwell in thee, / And God Himself is Light.
    # God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all! / Oh, how we love within His presence to dwell! / In this light we enjoy a constant cleansing within— / From every sin!
