college-age conference testimony – we need to grow in life and to cooperate with the Lord on our campus

October 29, 2010 by aGodMan 10 Comments

The whole theme of the last college age conference was related to the matter of building – this matter is revealed as being the desire of God’s heart from Genesis chapter 2 until the end of the book of Revelation.

Personally, I was touched by something in the 3rd message concerning the inner court/the Holy Place in the tabernacle. The Bible says that the only one who is qualified to enter into the tabernacle is the priest.

And it is a fact that we are a corporate priesthood (as revealed in the New Testament) – the only thing that we need to do is just to exercise this priesthood and this will enable us to enter into the tabernacle. In the second message the brother also mentioned that our experience of God’s building begins with the outer court, where is the altar and the laver.

After that is the tabernacle in which is the Holy of Holies. This really brought me into a realisation that what I have been enjoying and also considered as the real foretaste of the kingdom life is actually just the beginning.

The only thing that I have been doing is just going to the meeting and then going home – and the next day doing the same thing. This doesn’t mean that I am not enjoying or experiencing Christ – just that is still not enough!

The children of Israel woke up early in the morning to collect the manna which was their daily food from Jehovah – the only requirement was  that they would be on time. So, in order to go deeper in God’s desire, in His building, I realized that there is a need for me to grow in life – to flow in and flow out, living as a testimony of Jesus, a corporate priesthood! It happens that sometimes I would touch something of the tabernacle – however, it is not enough!

I want to be constantly enjoying Christ in the tabernacle! I really treasured such a time that exposed me and brought me to realize the lack in me for God’s building. In conclusion, I loved being in the conference for His building’s sake.

[brother Howser’s testimony from the 2010 fall college age conference in London, UK]

I was really impressed by the Campus fellowship! We need to be those Cooperating with the Lord’s move on Our Campus.

I have just moved to Cambridge and I am doing my undergraduate course in Anglia Ruskin University. So and after the Campus fellowship I saw something very important – I understood why did the Lord bring me here!

I realized that the Lord wants me to be His testimony on my campus. And even more – one of the points that touched me was “Not expecting to do quick work”. I thought(as many of us may think) that I will bring a lot of people to know the Lord during my first semester but I realized that it was mistake for me to think this way! Why? Because bearing fruit is actually a matter of shepherding.

I realised that it would be wonderful if I could bring at least one person to the Lord and into the church life within one semester! In the human life we have a good example of this – according to the natural law, human beings do not normally have two babies in a one year.

So we all need to be patient and enjoy the Lord every day. Just one person will be very good. In order to do a constant work we must be constantly burning. Then the Body will increase in life and in people/members. One will come in here and another one there, until eventually it will be a good number. Praise the Lord for our Campuses – we can cooperate with the Lord’s move on our campus!
