Ask Me about the things to come concerning My sons, and concerning the work of My hands, command Me

April 20, 2011 by aGodMan 5 Comments

This title is a quote from Isaiah 45:11 where it says,

Thus says Jehovah, The Holy One of Israel and the One who formed him. Ask Me about the things to come concerning My sons, and concerning the work of My hands, command Me.

Everyone who knows God knows that you cannot be haughty or presumptuous with Him – you cannot just come and “command God”. No, this is not what this verse shows.

Here God opens His heart to His people, especially to those who know Him and His heart, telling them that regarding the work of His hands, regarding what He wants to do, and He needs man would cooperate with Him in prayer that He would do it!

We can command God to do what He wants to do! In the most proper sense, earth controls the heavens, and the heavens is willing to be commanded by the earth!

After we know God’s will, we can say to Him, “God, we want You to do this. We are determined that You should accomplish Your will. God, You must do this!” We need to ask God to open our eyes to see the kind of work He is doing in this age.

When we see what the heavens want to accomplish, when we see that God desires to have a built-up Body for Christ and to gain the Bride for Christ, we will realize that He cannot do this alone and He does not want to do this alone! God may want to accomplish something, but He will not do it alone – God waits for man to pray this first to Him, and then He does it!

Man can cooperate with God or, in some measure, man can delay the work of God by not uttering the prayers that God needs in order for Him to move.

This really shows that God wants these “watchmen” (Isa. 62:6-7) which are appointed by God upon “the walls of Jerusalem”, who do not sleep nor keep silent day and night. These watchmen remind God concerning what is going on and pray to God concerning His will and His desire.

God desires to gain a group of people in many places in all the world who are men of prayer – the watch tirelessly to see what is happening and they remind God concerning His will, His economy! These are companies of saints watching together, and together they discover something, and together they pray unceasingly to God!

They don’t let God go – they pray tirelessly and ceaselessly until God accomplishes what He desires!

We must persevere in prayer until the Body of Christ is built up, until Christ is formed in the saints, until there is the reality of the one new man, until the Bride of Christ is brought in, and until God produces His overcoming saints which will bring Him back!

We need to be these men! We need to give ourselves to the Lord that He would show us His will, we would be one with Him in His heart’s desire, and we would together pray ceaselessly until God accomplishes His will!

This is not to pray out of our mind, for our needs, for our families, for the saints in the church in a general way, or just for the calamities happening in the world! No, this is to be before the Lord specifically as transparent human beings cooperating with God, having our entire being in harmony under our mingled spirit, and being one with the Lord’s inward feelings to such an extent that we utter what is on His heart!

[sharing inspired by bro. Watchman Nee’s Collected Works, vol. 38, and, The Prayer Ministry of the Church, by Watchman Nee; also: continued from, the earth moves the heavens – God desires man to cooperate with Him in prayer that His will be done!]

Lord, make us such men! Gain such a reality among us and with us! Show us what is on Your heart to do today, Lord! We simply want to come to You emptied and poor in spirit, ready to be one with You in praying for what’s on Your heart! Lord, whatever You want to accomplish today on the earth – do it! Build up the Body of Christ! Build up the church! May Christ be formed in all the saints! Gain shining strong lampstands in all the major cities in the world! Gain Your Bride! Produce Your overcomers!

Wooow!
I am especially touched that in Isaiah 45:11 God opens His heart to His people, especially to those who know Him and His heart, telling them that regarding the work of His hands, regarding what He wants to do, and He needs man would cooperate with Him in prayer that He would do it.
May the Lord make us such "watchman" which are appointed by God upon “the walls of Jerusalem”, who do not sleep nor keep silent day and night.  Watchmen which remind God concerning what is going on and pray to God concerning His will and His desire. God . Amen.

Amen…a perfect word, as usual. We need to be infused with our Lord’s heart.
